BMW X2: ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE SPECS
The 2022 X2 comes standard with a powerful 2.0L inline 4-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo engine. This powertrain provides 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque for your driving pleasure. It can also accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 6.6 seconds.
When connected to an X2 sDrive28i, the standard engine earned an EPA-estimated 24 city/32 highway MPG.* This provides an experience that blends power and efficiency.
While that is a potent performance in itself, there’s more power available in the M35i trim of the X2. A press of the gas pedal reveals the full potential of its 2.0L inline 4-cylinder BMW M TwinPower Turbo engine:
- 301 horsepower
- 331 lb-ft of torque
- 0 to 60 MPH acceleration in 4.7 seconds
The additional power helps you challenge that open span of I-76 that stretches across Pennsylvania countryside. Despite all this power, our review of the 2022 X2 also found that it provides a silky smooth experience in each trim.
A SMOOTH RIDE THROUGH LANCASTER, PA
The 2022 BMW X2 comes standard with front-wheel drive (FWD) and an 8-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission with Sport and Manual shift modes. This delivers the energetic driving experience you crave.
To provide easy access to the drive mode that works best for the road in front of you, Driving Dynamics Control smoothly accesses the following drive modes:
However, if you need extra power and traction, there are additional powertrains that can help. The available xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system will provide the traction you need to drive in wet and slippery conditions with confidence.
Plus, if you’re considering the X2 M35i, it will be paired with a system that supports its extra power. The coupe’s front-axle M Sport Differential helps you navigate sharp corners and everyday obstacles with ease.
ADDING A BOLD LOOK
As a Sports Activity Coupe®, the 2022 BMW X2 combines the capabilities and power of an SUV with the sleek and compact style of a coupe. Since the lower roofline of this design also offers a lower center of gravity, you’ll find the BMW X2 is altogether an undeniably exciting and unique vehicle.
You’ll even have your choice of stylish and eye-catching colors that help bring out its aerodynamic exterior. These choices include:
- Alpine White
- Phytonic Blue Metallic
- Galvanic Gold Metallic
- Sunset Orange Metallic
- Storm Bay Metallic
This array of colors complements exterior design elements like high-gloss chrome exhaust tips and a Satin Aluminum exterior trim. What does this mean for you? Your X2 can turn heads when you roll into the office parking lot. When you step out, you’ll have a bold look to complement your power tie.
A SPACIOUS INTERIOR
While it has the capability of a coupe, you’ll find plenty of room inside the 2022 X2. When we broke out the tape measure for our X2 review, we found plenty of space to stretch our legs.
Front-seat passengers will have 39.8 inches of headroom and 40.3 inches of legroom. What’s the best part about this room in the front row?
Passengers in the back seats of the X2 will still benefit from a comfortable ride. 36.7 inches of rear legroom lets your travelers slide right in. 53.9 inches of rear shoulder room provides ample space to operate smart devices on their way to the big conference.
With all that passenger room, you’ll still have plenty of space for cargo, too. Not only do you have 21.6 cubic feet of cargo space to pack luggage inside the X2, but you’ll also have enough space to bring the hotel gift shop splurge home.
EXCITING TECH INSIDE THE 2022 X2
The technology found in the X2 acts as a personal assistant for your driving needs. Infotainment, safety, and driver assistance are at your fingertips. If you’re focused on the road ahead, they can also be available through voice commands.
An 8.8-inch high-resolution touch display can also be directed through the Voice command system with Natural Language Understanding. The navigation system receives Over-the-Air (OTA) updates for map data up to four times annually.
Looking for a touch of the future? The available Head-up Display projects information right onto your windshield. This includes:
- Navigation guidance
- Collision warnings
- Detected speed limits
With information like collision warnings projected right onto your windshield, you’ll drive with peace of mind. You can even check your speed and speed limits without having to look away from the road ahead.
Plus, the X2’s standard Active Driving Assistant includes Frontal Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Speed Limit Info to give you a boost of confidence while behind the wheel.
A Listening Experience For The Ages
The sound of a BMW engine defines a unique driving experience. When you’re inside the 2022 X2’s cabin, however, you’ll be able to connect to a memorable listening experience. The X2’s cabin includes:
- HiFi Sound System with 205-watt digital amplifier and 7 speakers
- HD Radio™ with “multicast” FM station reception
- SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with 1-year All Access subscription
- Apple CarPlay™ compatibility
Apple CarPlay™ connects to your favorite podcasts and playlists. When you’re catching up on the latest episode, you’ll hear the tones of the host’s voice in crystal-clear audio quality.
A HiFi Sound System with 205-watt digital amplifier and seven speakers provides robust audio to every corner of the cabin. This not only creates a lasting sound experience for you but also for your co-workers who joined you on the way to the conference.
